Morning Prayer for July 17
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
Today’s takeaway: God is gracious and slow to anger, so bring your sins to Him and ask for mercy.
I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying, The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: … Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake.
LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name’s sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.
We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against thee.
If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
Prayer
O LORD, You are gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness. If You marked iniquities, who could stand? Do not remember our former sins; let Your tender mercies meet us quickly. This morning I ask You to be merciful to me, to my family, and to my country, for Your name's sake. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
