Morning Prayer for January 8

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

They that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Today’s takeaway: Those who know God's name can trust Him, because He never forsakes His people.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

The LORD will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.

Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us

Be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Prayer

LORD, those who know Your name will put their trust in You, because You have never forsaken anyone who seeks You. Your name is a strong tower, and I run into it this morning. You delivered me before, and You will deliver me again. Keep me content today with what I have, because You have said You will never leave me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
