Evening Prayer for January 8
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
They are without fault before the throne of God.
Today’s takeaway: In Christ your sins are gone, and you are accepted and kept by God.
The iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
He hath made us accepted in the beloved.
To present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Before you pray
What sin do you need to leave with God tonight?
Prayer
Lord God, one day I will stand before Your throne without fault, not because I never sinned, but because You pardon and forget. Tonight I remember some things I said and did today that I am not proud of. I bring them to You instead of replaying them. Accept me in the Beloved, and keep me from falling tomorrow. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
