Evening Prayer for January 7
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Today’s takeaway: God has never failed to keep a promise, and He will not forget you.
There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
The LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him
He will ever be mindful of his covenant.
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands
The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
Before you pray
What promise of God held true for you this week?
Prayer
Faithful God, You will not fail me or forsake me. Not one of Your good promises to Israel failed, and none of Yours to me will either. You are not a man that You should lie. You keep covenant for a thousand generations. Even a mother may forget her child, but You will not forget me. Rest my heart in that tonight. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
