Morning Prayer for January 7
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Think upon me, my God, for good
Today’s takeaway: God remembers you and thinks of you with plans of peace, not harm.
Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness
I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.
I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, … For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause: Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number
Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
Prayer
O God, think on me for good today. You remember the kindness of my first love for You, and You remember Your covenant. Your thoughts toward me are peace and not evil. Your ways are higher than mine. I commit my cause to You this morning, trusting that Your wonderful works toward me are more than I can count. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
