Morning Prayer for January 6
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands
Today’s takeaway: Ask God to put His beauty on your life and to bless the work of your hands.
Thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
The spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you
Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
Prayer
LORD our God, let Your beauty rest on me today, and establish the work of my hands. I commit my plans to You. It is You who works in me to will and to do Your good pleasure. Let the people around me see a little of Your glory in the ordinary way I do my job, care for my family, and speak to others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
