Morning Prayer for January 28
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
As thy days, so shall thy strength be.
Today’s takeaway: God gives strength for each day as it comes, so do not borrow tomorrow's worries.
When they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
No thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
The God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.
Prayer
Father, You promise that as my days are, so shall my strength be. Not strength for next month, but for today. I do not need to worry about tomorrow's troubles this morning. You give power to the faint and increase strength to those who have none. Your grace is sufficient, and Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
