Morning Prayer for January 20
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
His name shall be called Wonderful
Today’s takeaway: Jesus has a name above every name: Wonderful, God with us, and the Savior from sin.
The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
They shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
All men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father.
God … hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet
He had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out
What is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Your name is Wonderful. You are Emmanuel, God with us, and You save Your people from their sins. One day every knee will bow to You; this morning mine bows willingly. Help me honor Your name today in the way I speak, the way I work, and the way I treat the people who are hardest for me to love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
