Morning Prayer for February 5

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Today’s takeaway: Sin brought death, but Jesus came to give you life to the full.

In the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

She took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

If by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

Since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Our Saviour Jesus Christ, … hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel

God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You came so that I might have life, and have it abundantly. Some days I am only getting through. Wake me up to the life You give. Let me notice Your gifts today, enjoy the people around me, and do my work as someone truly alive in You, not just surviving until evening. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
