Evening Prayer for February 5
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
The judgment seat
Today’s takeaway: Those who are in Christ Jesus face no condemnation, so you can rest without fear.
We are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus
We are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
Before you pray
What would you want to have done differently today if Jesus had come?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, one day I will stand before You, and that is sobering. But I am not afraid tonight, because You died, rose, and pray for me. There is no condemnation for me in You. Let that truth make me more careful tomorrow, not more fearful. Help me live the day in a way I would be glad to show You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
