Morning Prayer for February 18

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

Thou art my hope in the day of evil.

Today’s takeaway: In your day of trouble God is your hope, and your weeping will not last forever.

There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

In my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. … thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication. What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.

For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

Sorrow shall be turned into joy.

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Prayer

LORD, You are my hope in the day of trouble. When things went well, I thought I would never be moved; then You hid Your face, and I was troubled. For a small moment You seemed far, but with great mercy You gather me. In this world I will have trouble, but Jesus has overcome. Lift up the light of Your face on me today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
