Morning Prayer for February 16
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Thy name is as ointment poured forth
Today’s takeaway: The name of Jesus is precious, so let His love fill your life like a sweet fragrance.
Christ … hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
Unto you therefore which believe he is precious
God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow
In him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
The house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
They took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
Emmanuel, … God with us.
His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Your name is like ointment poured out, sweet and precious. You loved me and gave Yourself as a fragrant offering. To those who believe, You are precious. All the fullness of God lives in You. Your name is a strong tower. If I love You, I will keep Your commands. Let my life today carry the fragrance of Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
