Evening Prayer for February 15

About 2–3 minutes · 6 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The floods lift up their waves. The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

Today’s takeaway: When the waves rise around you, the Lord is stronger, and He reaches out to catch you.

O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee

Peter … walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

Before you pray

What waves are rising in your life, and how is God mightier?

Prayer

O LORD God of hosts, the floods lift up their waves, but You on high are mightier than the noise of many waters. You rule the raging sea. When I pass through the waters, You will be with me. Like Peter, I look at the wind and start to sink. Reach out Your hand and catch me tonight. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
