Morning Prayer for February 14
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.
Today’s takeaway: Jesus kept God's law perfectly, and His righteousness is counted to everyone who believes.
I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.
Except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
What the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You were baptized to fulfill all righteousness, though You had no sin of Your own. You delighted to do the Father's will. I often obey only when it is easy. Give me a heart that delights in Your will today, even in the parts of my day that are hard or unseen. Let me walk in the Spirit. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
