Evening Prayer for February 14

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

I am thy part and thine inheritance

Today’s takeaway: The LORD Himself is your share and inheritance, and He is enough.

Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is

Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

My beloved is mine, and I am his

What do you desire more than God tonight?

Prayer

LORD, You are my part and my inheritance. Whom do I have in heaven but You? There is nothing on earth I desire beside You. You are my portion, so I will hope in You. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Your testimonies are my heritage and the joy of my heart. I rest content in You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
