Morning Prayer for December 27
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Today’s takeaway: What you see is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal, so keep your eyes on heaven.
Here have we no continuing city
Ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations
There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.
We that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory
Prayer
Father, I look not at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen. I have no lasting city here, but I have a better and enduring possession in heaven. It is Your good pleasure to give Your little flock the kingdom. For a season I may be heavy, but the sufferings of this time are not worth comparing with the glory to come. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
