Evening Prayer for December 26

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

He is able … to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him

Today’s takeaway: Jesus is able to save you completely and hold you steady until the end.

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ

Is any thing too hard for the LORD?

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Before you pray

What is too hard for you that is not too hard for God?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are able to save completely those who come to God by You. You will finish the good work You began in me. As this year winds down, I see how much is still unfinished in me. I trust You with it. You are able to keep me from falling. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
