Morning Prayer for August 25
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.
Today’s takeaway: Remember the pit God lifted you out of, and let it fill you with gratitude.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity
None eye pitied … thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born. And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee
He brought me up … out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God
When we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ
Prayer
Father, help me look to the rock I was cut from and the pit I was dug out of. I was shaped in iniquity, left in the open field, and no eye pitied me. But You passed by and said, Live. You brought me up out of the miry clay and set my feet on a rock. When I was without strength, Christ died for me. Put a new song in my mouth today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
