Morning Prayer for August 23
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
Today’s takeaway: God loved you with a love that has no beginning, and He called you to Himself by grace.
We are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God; … hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Prayer
Father, You have loved me with an everlasting love, and with lovingkindness You have drawn me. You saved me and called me with a holy calling, not because of my works, but because of Your own purpose and grace. Your eyes saw me before I was formed. You so loved the world that You gave Your only Son. This is love: not that I loved You, but that You loved me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
