Morning Prayer for August 2
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Today’s takeaway: Jesus is the Passover Lamb planned before the world began, and His blood covers you.
Your lamb shall be without blemish, … and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
And when I see the blood, I will pass over you
The blood of sprinkling
Christ our passover is sacrificed for us
Being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God
According to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began
We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
Prayer
Father, Jesus is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. You planned my redemption before time began, according to Your own purpose and grace. When You saw the blood on Israel's doors, You passed over them. Christ our Passover was sacrificed for me, and I have redemption through His blood. Arm me today with His mind, so I live for Your will and not my own desires. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
