Morning Prayer for August 19
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
As he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation
Today’s takeaway: God has brought you from darkness into His light, so let your life show His goodness today.
Ye know how we exhorted … and charged every one of you, … That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
Ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light
Ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Prayer
Holy Father, You have called me out of darkness into Your marvelous light, and You call me to be holy as You are holy. Help me walk worthy of You today. I was once darkness, but now I am light in the Lord. Let my light shine before people so they see my good works and glorify You. Whether I eat or drink or whatever I do, let me do it all for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
