Morning Prayer for August 18

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

What God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?

Today’s takeaway: There is no God like the LORD, and He has great things prepared for those who love Him.

Who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?

O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?

Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.

For thy word’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them. Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit

The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children

Prayer

O LORD God of hosts, who is like You? No one in heaven or on earth can do works like Yours. It is easy for me to shrink You down to the size of my worries. This morning I lift my eyes. Let me walk into today with a big view of You and a small view of my problems. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
