Morning Prayer for August 14
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
The joy of the LORD is your strength.
Today’s takeaway: The joy the LORD gives becomes your strength, so let your heart sing today.
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
My soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.
We … joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Prayer
LORD, Your joy is my strength this morning. You are my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. You are my strength and my song. My heart trusted in You, and I am helped, so my heart greatly rejoices. You have clothed me with the garments of salvation. Whatever happens today, I will rejoice in You and joy in the God of my salvation. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
