Morning Prayer for August 13

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

He hath prepared for them a city.

Today’s takeaway: Jesus is preparing a place for you, so live patiently as you wait for Him.

If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

An inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you

Here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

We which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Prayer

Father, You have prepared a city for me. Jesus went to prepare a place, and He will come again to receive me to Himself. My inheritance is incorruptible, undefiled, and does not fade away. I have no lasting city here. Make me patient like a farmer waiting for the harvest, because the coming of the Lord is near. Yet a little while, and He will come. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
