Morning Prayer for April 7
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
Today’s takeaway: In Christ you can be sorrowful yet rejoicing, poor yet rich in grace.
We … rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also
I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
Believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory
In a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ
Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work
Prayer
Gracious Father, Paul was sorrowful yet always rejoicing, poor yet making many rich, having nothing and yet possessing all things. I want that kind of joy, the kind that does not wait for good circumstances. Even in trouble, I can rejoice in hope of Your glory. I am less than the least of Your people, yet You have given me grace. Make it abound in me today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
