Evening Prayer for April 6
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
They that know thy name will put their trust in thee
Today’s takeaway: Every name of Jesus shows who He is for you: your righteousness, strength, and peace.
This is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor
O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
The mighty God, The everlasting Father
I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
The Prince of Peace.
He is our peace
Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help
As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.
Before you pray
Which name of God do you need to run to tonight?
Prayer
LORD, those who know Your name trust You. You are Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. I cannot direct my own steps, and some decisions are weighing on me tonight. Your name is a strong tower. I run into it and leave those decisions with You. Defend this home while we sleep. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
