Morning Prayer for April 29

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

Consider how great things he hath done for you.

Today’s takeaway: Look back over your life and remember how God has led you and been kind.

Thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.

I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

He knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

Prayer

LORD my God, I want to consider the great things You have done for me. Help me remember the whole way You have led me, including the hard parts. You correct me as a father corrects his son. It was good for me to be afflicted, because it taught me Your ways. You have not dealt with me as my sins deserve. You remember that I am dust. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
