Evening Prayer for April 28

About 2–3 minutes · 11 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.

Today’s takeaway: Keep growing and praising God more and more, as the light grows toward full day.

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect

Leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God

The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion

They rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty

Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me

Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Before you pray

What can you praise God for tonight that you overlooked earlier?

Prayer

LORD, I will hope continually and praise You more and more. I love You, because You have heard my voice and my prayers. You bent down to listen, so I will call on You as long as I live. Let Your praise be in my mouth at all times. Tonight I rejoice, I pray, and I give thanks. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
