God’s Word

Brethren, the time is short

Today’s takeaway: Time is short, so live today for the Lord, knowing death has lost its victory.

Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.

The world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Death is swallowed up in victory.

Whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

To live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Cast not away … your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

The end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

Prayer

Lord God, the time is short. My days are few, and this world is passing away. But death has been swallowed up in victory, and in Christ I will be made alive. Whether I live or die, I belong to You. For me to live is Christ. Do not let me throw away my confidence. The night is far spent and the day is near, so help me put on the armor of light today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
