Evening Prayer for April 26

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?

Today’s takeaway: Jesus gave Himself for His church to make her pure and beautiful for Him.

The church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

There appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun

The marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

The righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe

The glory which thou gavest me I have given them

Before you pray

How could you love and serve your local church this week?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You loved the church and gave Yourself for it. You are making it holy, without spot or wrinkle. Tonight I pray for my church, with all its weaknesses and mine. Bless our pastors, heal our divisions, and show me how I can serve my brothers and sisters this week. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
