Morning Prayer for April 19
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
Today’s takeaway: Jesus is the open door to God, and through Him anyone may come in.
The veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom
Christ … hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God
The way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Through him we … have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God
Having … boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh
We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You are the door. The veil was torn, and the way to God is open. I do not have to stand outside, hoping I have done enough. This morning I come in through You, with boldness. Let me carry that peace into my day, and let me not slip back into trying to earn what You have already given. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
