Evening Prayer for September 30

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Today’s takeaway: Ask God to show you His ways, and trust Him to guide you step by step.

Moses said unto the LORD, … I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, … And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Before you pray

Where do you need the Lord to show you His way tomorrow?

Prayer

O LORD, show me Your ways and teach me Your paths. Moses asked to know Your way, and You promised that Your presence would go with him and give him rest. You guide the meek and teach them Your way. I trust You with all my heart and do not lean on my own understanding. Show me the path of life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
