Evening Prayer for September 29

About 2–3 minutes · 12 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

What things soever … the Father … doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Today’s takeaway: The Son does the Father's will, and He gives wisdom and grace to those who wait on Him.

The LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart

My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

Them that are sanctified by God the Father

He that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren

Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

The fulness of him that filleth all in all.

I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

This is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Before you pray

What did the Lord give you today that you could not have given yourself?

Prayer

LORD, You give wisdom, and from Your mouth come knowledge and understanding. Jesus promised His disciples words that no adversary could answer. Tomorrow I have a conversation I am not sure how to handle. I wait on You tonight for wisdom and the right words. Strengthen my heart, and give me grace, mercy, and peace as I sleep. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
