Evening Prayer for September 25
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ
Today’s takeaway: God knows every secret of your heart, so bring it to Him honestly tonight.
Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
The Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son
Because he is the Son of man.
The Son of God, … hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire
They say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
These things … done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
Before you pray
Is there anything in your heart tonight you would not want the Lord to see?
Prayer
Lord, nothing is covered that will not be revealed. Some think You do not know, or that You are like them. But the Son has eyes like a flame of fire. All my desire is before You, and my groaning is not hidden. So I do not hide tonight. Examine me, O LORD, and prove me. Test my heart and my mind, and make me clean. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
