Evening Prayer for September 21

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.

Today’s takeaway: The Holy Spirit lives in you as Comforter and Helper, so walk closely with Him.

I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

He shall not speak of himself; … He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

He that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Jesus asked You to send another Comforter to be with me forever. He does not speak of Himself; He glorifies Christ. He pours Your love into my heart and helps my weakness. I am joined to the Lord and am one spirit with Him. Keep me from grieving Him. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
