Morning Prayer for September 22

About 2–3 minutes · 16 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

Today’s takeaway: Jesus is more lovely than anyone, so let your thoughts of Him be sweet today.

As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?

My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.

One pearl of great price

The prince of the kings of the earth.

His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.

The head over all things

He is the head of the body, the church

His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers

He could not be hid.

His lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh.

Never man spake like this man.

His countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.

Make thy face to shine upon thy servant

LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, my meditation of You is sweet. You are the chief among ten thousand, the pearl of great price. It is easy for me to think of You as a duty instead of a delight. This morning let me enjoy You. Make Your face shine on me, and let that joy show in how I treat people today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
