Evening Prayer for November 23

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

My kingdom is not of this world

Today’s takeaway: Jesus reigns now, and every enemy will be put under His feet.

This man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

He must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

He raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

He shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords

Before you pray

How does Christ's reign give you peace tonight?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Your kingdom is not of this world. You sat down at the right hand of God, and You must reign until all enemies are under Your feet. When the news or my own circumstances make it look like You are not in control, remind me who is on the throne. I rest tonight under Your reign. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
