Evening Prayer for May 30
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
Thou hearest me always
Today’s takeaway: Jesus prayed in line with the Father's will, and so can you, with confidence.
Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
Lo, I come to do thy will, O God.
Not my will, but thine, be done.
As he is, so are we in this world.
This is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us
Whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
He ever liveth to make intercession for them.
We have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous
Before you pray
What did you ask God for today, and was it according to His will?
Prayer
Father, Jesus said to You that You always hear Him. As He is, so are we in this world. This is the confidence I have: if I ask anything according to Your will, You hear me. Jesus always lives to intercede for me, and He is my Advocate with You. So tonight I pray as He did, Not my will, but Yours be done. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
