Evening Prayer for March 23

About 2–3 minutes · 11 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

They constrained him, saying, Abide with us

Today’s takeaway: Invite Jesus to stay with you tonight, because He will come in and share your life.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?

I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go

Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.

I am come into my garden

I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain

Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

The world seeth me no more; but ye see me

Before you pray

Did you sense the Lord with you today, even for a moment?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, the two disciples on the road to Emmaus begged You to stay with them because evening had come. I ask the same tonight. Stay with me. You stand at the door and knock, and I open it. You promised to be with me always and never to leave me. The world does not see You, but I do. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
