Evening Prayer for June 8

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

Today’s takeaway: Do not let worry crowd out faith, because the God who fed thousands still provides.

Being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God

Is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

Behold the fowls of the air: … your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? Do ye not … remember the five loaves of the five thousand

My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Before you pray

What worry did you carry today that God has already handled before?

Prayer

Faithful God, Jesus asked His disciples why they were worried about bread. Did they not remember the five loaves and the five thousand? I forget too. You have provided for me so many times before. You feed the birds, and I am worth more than they are. You will supply all my need tonight and tomorrow. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
