Evening Prayer for June 29

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions

Today’s takeaway: God has blotted out your sins and chooses not to remember them.

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, … he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, … to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Before you pray

What past sin do you keep remembering that God has chosen to forget?

Prayer

LORD, remember not the sins of my youth. You have promised to remember them no more. You have blotted out my transgressions like a thick cloud and cast all my sins into the depths of the sea. In love You have delivered my soul and put my sins behind Your back. Who is a God like You? I rest tonight washed and forgiven. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
