Morning Prayer for June 30

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten

Today’s takeaway: When God corrects you, it is because He loves you as His own child.

My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

He maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time

I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

Prayer

Father, those You love, You correct. Help me not to despise Your discipline or lose heart when You rebuke me. You correct me as a father corrects a son he delights in. You wound, and Your hands make whole. You do not afflict willingly. I humble myself under Your mighty hand this morning, trusting You to lift me up in due time. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
