Evening Prayer for June 24
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
Master, where dwellest thou? He saith unto them, Come and see.
Today’s takeaway: Jesus has gone ahead to get your home ready, and He is with you even now.
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne
Thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
Before you pray
Where did you find the Lord waiting for you today?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, two disciples asked where You lived, and You said, Come and see. Tonight I come. In Your Father's house are many rooms, and You are preparing one for me. You dwell with the humble and contrite, and You are with me always. How excellent is Your lovingkindness. I put my trust under the shadow of Your wings. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
