Evening Prayer for July 14
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face.
Today’s takeaway: Long to see Jesus face to face, because He has promised to come quickly.
Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down
As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
Our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ
God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope
Whom having not seen, ye love
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
It shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Before you pray
What do you long to say to Jesus when you see Him face to face?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I hope to see You soon and speak face to face. As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You. I have not seen You, yet I love You. You are my hope. I am looking for Your glorious appearing. You said You are coming quickly. Come, Lord Jesus. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
