Evening Prayer for July 12
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works
Today’s takeaway: Encourage and help one another tonight, because no believer was meant to stand alone.
How forcible are right words!
I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance
They that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
The LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
Let … no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.
Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Before you pray
Who encouraged you this week, and whom could you encourage?
Prayer
LORD God, You said it is not good for man to be alone. Two are better than one, because if one falls, the other can lift him up. Thank You for the people You have given me. Show me who needs encouragement this week, and help me bear their burdens instead of adding to them. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
