Evening Prayer for February 12
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
Today’s takeaway: God shows His glory in Jesus, and one day you will see it face to face.
God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
Before you pray
Where did you catch a glimpse of God's glory today?
Prayer
Father, like Moses I ask You to show me Your glory. You have shone in my heart to give the light of Your glory in the face of Jesus Christ. No one has seen You, but the Son has made You known. My soul thirsts for You. When You said, Seek My face, my heart answered that I will. Let me rest in that light. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
