Evening Prayer for February 10

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

He smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed

Today’s takeaway: Jesus is the Rock that was struck for you, and anyone thirsty may come and drink.

All our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

One of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

My people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Before you pray

Where did you look for living water today?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the Rock that was struck so the waters could flow. Your side was pierced, and blood and water came out. You were wounded for my transgressions. My people forsook the fountain of living water, and I sometimes do the same. Tonight I come to You to drink. Refresh my thirsty soul. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
