Evening Prayer for April 9
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us
Today’s takeaway: Before you sleep, count the kindnesses God has shown you, above all the gift of Jesus.
He brought me up … out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
The Son of God, … loved me, and gave himself for me.
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died
Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus
Before you pray
What kindness of the LORD from today do you want to thank Him for?
Prayer
LORD, tonight I want to tell over Your lovingkindnesses. You brought me up out of a horrible pit and set my feet on a rock. The Son of God loved me and gave Himself for me. You are rich in mercy. You have given me Your Spirit as a pledge of everything still to come. I fall asleep counting Your kindness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
