Evening Prayer for April 22

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

Today’s takeaway: Only Jesus could pay the price for your soul, and He paid it in full.

Fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: For the redemption of their soul is precious

I have found a ransom.

God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Before you pray

How has God's mercy toward you been greater than you deserve?

Prayer

LORD, great is Your mercy toward me. You rescued my soul from the depths. No one could pay the price to redeem me, but You found a ransom. Tonight I think of where I would be without You, and I am grateful. Let that gratitude make me gentle with others tomorrow. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
