Evening Prayer for April 17

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Draw me, we will run after thee

Today’s takeaway: God draws you to Himself with everlasting love, so follow where He leads.

I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love

I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Behold the Lamb of God!

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

We love him, because he first loved us.

My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

Before you pray

How did you sense God drawing you toward Himself today?

Prayer

Lord, draw me, and I will run after You. You have loved me with an everlasting love, and with lovingkindness You have drawn me. You drew me with cords of love. Jesus was lifted up so that He would draw all people to Himself, and He drew me. Whom have I in heaven but You? I love You because You first loved me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
